Although boxing is traditionally thought of as a more male dominated field, there are many benefits of boxing workouts for females and males. For instance, it’s not uncommon to see on social media boxing body transformation females have experienced. These are very typical because of the overall benefits of boxing for weight loss.
Benefits of Boxing Workouts
Improved Coordination:
Boxing involves quick, coordinated movement and footwork, which helps in developing mind body coordination.
INCREASE FULL BODY STRENGTH:
Punching uses your whole body to execute, making it an ideal full body strength workout. Your arms, core, and legs are all needed in boxing.

HIIT TRAINING:
Boxing can be a great HIIT Workout. HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. This means that you push for a very high intensity for short intervals at a time. HIIT workouts are workouts alternate between increasing your heart rate maximum effort for a short period (think 30 seconds) followed by short active recovery sets of lower intensity. These workouts are highly effective for weight loss especially when done 2-3 times a week.
Weight Loss:
As mentioned, boxing can be a great weight loss tool, because of the ability to burn more calories. For example, you can burn 390–558 calories, or more depending on your body type, age, and current fitness level. Boxing also usually includes jumprope as a form of cardio, which also has many health benefits.
Stress Reduction:
Boxing can have great spiritual and mental benefits for some people. We all know that life can be stressful and having the ability to punch it out every now and then can reduce tension and aid in stress relief. As a mental health expert and wellness coach, I encourage clients to try different activities to manage stress in a healthy way.
Easily Accessible:
Fitness boxing classes are easy to find locally on Classpass and are a great way to workout with others and switch up your routine. Similarly, it’s also a great workout to try at home. Boxing at home is a good workout because it’s easy to do and requires minimal equipment to get started.
