Finding the best desserts and tea houses in a city with so many options can be hard. Philly may be known for its cheesesteak but the cheesecakes are just as good! Philly has a strong foodie culture from brunch all the way down to dessert. Here are three of the best places to get desserts and pastries in Center City Philadelphia.
Prince Tea House:
Address: 203 N 9th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
Tucked away in Chinatown Philadelphia is the adorable tea and dessert shop, Prince Tea House. This is the perfect place to stop in for a decadent multi-level cake or an exotic brewed tea.
Miel Patisserie:
Address: 204 S 17th St Philadelphia, PA 19103
This little french cafe is the perfect place to get a quick coffee and macaroon. This cafe is tucked right by the Rittenhouse park and has lots of to-go pastries and even sandwiches. The traditional croissants and the Tiramisus macaroon are a must-try if you visit. Not in the city? They also have locations
Lacroix inside of the Rittenhouse Hotel
Address: 210 W Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA 19103
Lacroix’s afternoon tea is iconic. This is definitely the best comprehensive afternoon tea experience I’ve had in Philadelphia. Attending this afternoon tea literally felt just like my afternoon tea in England, which is the highest compliment. Everything on this menu is amazing, just be sure to check the restaurant hours as things have changed since Covid.

Looking for some amazing dessert but don’t feel like going to a tea house or cafe? Here are a few restaurants that don’t specialize in dessert but have amazing signature dessert items.
Iron Hill Brewery:
Address: 1150 MARKET ST. PHILADELPHIA, PA 19107
Come for the beers, stay for the baked goods. Iron Hill Brewery feels like an elevated sports bar with some seriously good menu items. The pizza, the cheesesteak egg rolls, and brownie a la mode are all worth trying during your next sports game.
The Wayward:
Address: 1170 Ludlow Street, PA 19107
Located inside of The Canopy Hotel, The Wayward’s signature dessert, the Croquembouche is one of a kind. It’s made in partnership with local Philly mainstay, Federal Donuts. The mini cream filled donuts are coated with caramel on top table side for an Instagram-worthy snap.
Steak 48:
Address: 260 South Broad Street, Philadelphia PA 19102
If you’re looking to have an amazing meal before your dessert then Steak 48 is a must. Steak 48 is my favorite steak house for good reason. After you eat the best steak of your life, top it off with a delicious dessert. The S’mores in a jar pictured above is a delicious take on a classic dessert.
